There are many lovely beaches nearby that are worth visiting, here is a short selection of some of the best:
- Bridlington Beach (North) – Bridlington North Beach has the seaside award, (Best beaches in England). It is a sand and shingle beach surrounded by wide promenades backed against the impressive Flamborough cliffs.
- Bridlington Beach (South) – Bridlington South Beach was given a Quality Coast Bucket and Spade Award for the first time this year.
- Hornsea Beach – The Blue Flag status beach at Hornsea is made up of fine golden sand and shingle, and features a newly-developed promenade.
- Withernsea Beach – The traditional holiday resort of Withernsea sports a recently redesigned and attractively rebuilt promenade. The famous lighthouse towers some 127 feet above the resort
- Spurn Point – This unique coastal national nature reserve features a long sandy spit stretching three and a half miles into the Humber Estuary from the Holderness Coast
- Flamborough North Landing Beach – North Landing beach is a sandy with white pebbles and rock pools. The pretty coves of North Landing and Thornwick Bay are scattered with caves along the shoreline and are perfect for exploring.
- Flamborough South Landing Beach – South Landing beach is a beautiful expanse of sand and white pebbles. It is a perfect spot for a family day out where you can have a picnic
- Danes Dyke – 148 acre nature reserve on Flamborough headland. The dyke is prehistoric in origin and was constructed as a defensive feature and the woodland. The woodland leads to a small secluded cove.
- Fraisthorpe Beach – Fraisthorpe is a vast expanse of flat sandy beach which is perfect for dog walking, horse riding and kite-surfing. It’s the best beach in East Yorkshire if you’re looking to exercise near the sea.
