Leaving East Yorkshire Better Than We Found It
At Bumblebee Escapes, we believe a holiday can do more than create wonderful memories—it can also have a positive impact on the place you’re visiting.
For us, sustainability and regenerative tourism isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making thoughtful choices that support our local community, protect the wildlife around us and continually improve what we offer, so that future guests, local businesses and nature all benefit.
As a small, family-run business, we’re proud to work with local suppliers, encourage guests to discover independent businesses and care for the beautiful corner of East Yorkshire that we’re lucky enough to call home.
Every small improvement adds up, and we’re committed to learning, growing and doing even more as Bumblebee Escapes continues to evolve.

Supporting Local Businesses
One of the greatest joys of staying somewhere new is discovering the independent businesses that make an area unique.
We’re passionate about recommending local cafés, restaurants, farm shops, attractions and hidden gems that our guests might otherwise never discover.
Whether it’s somewhere to enjoy breakfast, a scenic coastal walk, an award-winning fish and chip shop or a family attraction, we’re always happy to share our favourite recommendations.
Whenever possible, we also source products locally for our guest hampers and celebration packages, helping to support fellow small businesses within our community.
By encouraging guests to explore locally, we hope each stay helps contribute to the wider East Yorkshire economy.
Caring for Wildlife
Nature is one of the reasons we chose the name Bumblebee Escapes, so supporting local wildlife is something that’s naturally close to our hearts.
Across the grounds you’ll find bee-friendly flowers, seasonal planting and areas that provide food and shelter for pollinators throughout the year.
We’re also creating spaces that support birds, hedgehogs and other native wildlife, recognising that even small gardens can make a difference when thoughtfully managed.
Our aim is to help guests enjoy the wildlife around them while ensuring future generations can do the same.
Making Sustainable Improvements
Looking after the environment is an ongoing journey rather than a finished project.
Over the past few years we’ve introduced a number of improvements, including installing more energy-efficient hot tubs and solar-powered outdoor lighting to help reduce our environmental impact.
Alongside these larger investments, we continually look for smaller opportunities to improve, from updating guest information to encouraging simple energy-saving habits during each stay.
As we continue developing Bumblebee Escapes, we’ll keep looking for practical ways to become more sustainable without compromising the comfort and quality our guests expect.

Celebrating Local Produce
We love sharing a taste of Yorkshire with our guests.
Fresh eggs from our own chickens regularly feature in our welcome packs, alongside carefully selected locally sourced treats whenever possible.
Many of our celebration hampers and gifts also include products from local businesses, helping guests discover some of the fantastic food and drink our region has to offer.
Supporting local producers allows us to create thoughtful welcome experiences while contributing to the businesses that make our community so special.

Helping Guests Explore East Yorkshire
We believe the best holidays aren’t spent entirely indoors.
That’s why we encourage guests to get out and explore everything East Yorkshire has to offer, from peaceful beaches and dramatic coastline to picturesque market towns, nature reserves and family attractions.
Throughout the year we share seasonal recommendations, local events and hidden gems to help guests experience the area like a local rather than simply passing through.
Every recommendation we make helps support the cafés, restaurants, shops, attractions and independent businesses that make our region such a wonderful place to visit.
Looking Ahead
Regenerative tourism isn’t a destination—it’s a mindset.
As Bumblebee Escapes grows, we’ll continue looking for new ways to support our local community, care for our environment and create memorable experiences for every guest who stays with us.
By making thoughtful decisions today, we hope to leave a positive legacy for tomorrow—one stay at a time.
Meet Our Chickens
Some of the freshest ingredients we can offer our guests come from right here at Bumblebee Escapes.
Our small flock of chickens provide many of the fresh eggs included in our welcome packs, and they’ve become a much-loved part of life here. They can be seen roaming the woodland area near the pods!
They’re a small but important reminder of the slower pace of countryside life and another way we enjoy sharing a little piece of Bumblebee Escapes with every guest.
