Accessibility & Inclusivity

Accessibility & Inclusivity at Bumblebee Escapes

Everyone Deserves a Warm Welcome

At Bumblebee Escapes, we believe accessibility is about far more than ramps and measurements. It's about creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every guest feels comfortable, valued and able to enjoy their stay.

Every guest has different needs, and while our accommodation may not be suitable for everyone, we're always happy to have an honest conversation before you book. We'll happily answer any questions, provide photographs or measurements where needed, and explain the layout of each property so you can decide whether it's the right fit for you.

We believe it's far better to have an open conversation beforehand than for guests to arrive and discover something unexpected.

Where possible, we're also happy to make small adjustments to help make your stay easier. Whether that's moving lightweight furniture, providing additional information before arrival or simply answering lots of questions, we'll always do everything we reasonably can to help.

Our aim is simple—to make every guest feel welcome from the very first enquiry.

Accessibility Information

Bumblebee Cottage

Parking

Private parking is available immediately outside the cottage, allowing guests to unload close to the entrance.

Entrance

There are two steps leading into the private enclosed courtyard. The cottage entrance front entrance however, has a ramp to the door. There are door sills from the exterior.

The courtyard is paved, although some of the paving is slightly uneven in places due to the type of tile used.

Ground Floor

The cottage includes:

  • A spacious open-plan living area
  • Kitchen and dining area
  • One downstairs double bedroom
  • Downstairs WC

Please note there is no shower on the ground floor.

First Floor

The family bathroom is located upstairs and includes:

  • Walk-in shower
  • Bath
  • Toilet
  • Wash basin

There are stairs leading to the first floor.

Games Room

The separate games room is accessed from outside via the courtyard.

There is one small step into the games room due to the exterior door sill.

A WC is also available within the games room.

Hot Tub

The private hot tub is accessed using fixed steps.

These steps are relatively narrow with a higher final step into the hot tub. Because of this, guests with reduced mobility may find access difficult. We recommend considering this carefully before use, although the decision is entirely yours during your stay.

Door Widths

Most internal doorways are of standard residential width.

If you require any measurements before booking, we'd be happy to provide these.

Pollen & Nectar Pods

Parking

Guests can park close to both pods, with only a short walk to the pod entrance.

Pathways

Access is via a level pathway.

Entrance

Each pod has a small number of steps up the decking, leading to the pod doorway.

Accommodation Layout

Both pods are single-level once inside and include:

  • Open-plan bedroom
  • Seating area
  • Kitchenette
  • Ensuite shower room

Bathroom

Each pod has an ensuite bathroom with:

  • Walk-in shower
  • Toilet
  • Wash basin

Hot Tub

Each pod has its own private outdoor hot tub accessed by fixed steps.

As with the cottage, guests should consider whether these steps are suitable for their own mobility needs.

We're Here to Help

If you have any questions about accessibility before booking, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

No question is too small, and we'd much rather discuss your individual requirements beforehand to help you choose accommodation that's right for you.

Our goal is to provide clear, honest information so every guest can book with confidence.
