But if you’re new here, hello! We’re Katie & Ben, the husband-and-wife team behind Bumblebee Escapes.
Bumblebee Escapes sits in the East Yorkshire countryside between Hornsea and Bridlington, on land that’s been part of Ben’s family for many years. We have our two cosy glamping pods, Pollen Pod and Nectar Pod, alongside Bumblebee Cottage, our larger holiday cottage made for family getaways, celebrations and trips away with friends.
And behind all three of them? That’s us!
A Little About Us
We live right here on site, so Bumblebee Escapes isn’t simply somewhere we work—it’s a huge part of our everyday lives.
We’re involved in pretty much everything that happens here, from preparing the properties and looking after the grounds to answering guest questions, planning improvements, creating welcome touches and occasionally being called upon to solve the sort of unexpected little problems that naturally come with running holiday accommodation!
You’ll often find Ben around the properties making sure everything is running as it should, looking after the grounds or getting one of the pods ready for its next guests.
Katie is usually somewhere behind the scenes working on the website, social media, guest experience, local partnerships, new ideas and all those little Bumblebee touches that seem to result in an ever-growing to-do list!
And somehow, between the two of us, it all comes together.
Why We Love What We Do
One of our favourite things about running Bumblebee Escapes is knowing that we’re providing the backdrop to so many different memories.
We’ve welcomed couples escaping for a few quiet days together, families celebrating milestone birthdays, anniversary trips, groups of friends reunited for the weekend and guests who simply needed somewhere to switch off for a while.
We’ve also been incredibly lucky to welcome guests who return again and again.
Knowing that somebody enjoyed their stay enough to choose Bumblebee Escapes for another holiday is something we’ll never take for granted.

We’re incredibly proud of where we live.
From the beaches and dramatic coastline to countryside walks, independent cafés, brilliant local businesses and some seriously good fish and chips, there’s so much to discover around us.
That’s actually one of the reasons we’ve created The Bumblebee Journal.
We don’t want to simply give you somewhere lovely to sleep—we want to help you make the most of the whole trip.
We’ll be sharing the places we genuinely recommend, the businesses we love supporting and some of the lesser-known spots you might otherwise drive straight past.
More Than Just Somewhere to Stay
For us, Bumblebee Escapes has always been about creating somewhere that feels welcoming.
We want you to arrive, put your bags down and feel like your holiday has properly begun.
We’re constantly learning, changing things and finding ways to make the experience better—whether that’s a big property improvement or something as small as discovering a brilliant local treat to add to our welcome packs.
There will always be another idea brewing somewhere!
